How to Create a Digital Signature for Online Forms
Create clean, professional digital signatures from photos or scans for documents, contracts, and applications.
Why you need a digital signature
Digital signatures are increasingly required for online applications, contracts, and official forms. A good digital signature should have a transparent background, be sized appropriately, and look clean and professional.
Unlike a scanned document that includes the entire page, a digital signature file contains only the signature itself — no background, no lines, no extra elements.
Creating your signature step by step
1. Sign your name on a clean white piece of paper using a dark pen (black or dark blue works best).
2. Take a photo or scan of the signature in good lighting. Make sure the signature fills most of the frame.
3. Open the Signature Processor tool and upload your signature image.
4. Choose a color mode — keep original colors or convert to black and white for maximum contrast.
5. Adjust the threshold slider to remove the paper background and keep only the signature strokes.
6. Download your signature as a PNG with transparent background, ready to paste into any document.
Signature best practices
Always sign with consistent pressure for uniform stroke thickness. Avoid using pencil or light-colored pens — they create faint lines that are hard to extract cleanly.
Keep your original signature file safe. You can reuse it across multiple documents without having to sign and scan each time.
If the system requires a specific file size, use the Image Compressor on your signature PNG to reduce its size while keeping the transparent background.
