About DPI and size conversion
What is DPI?
DPI (Dots Per Inch) is a measure of print resolution. For digital images displayed on screens, DPI metadata doesn't affect how the image looks — only pixel dimensions matter. DPI becomes relevant when printing.
How do I convert between pixels and physical size?
Use the formula: pixels = (physical_size_in_inches) × DPI. For example, at 300 DPI, a 1-inch square image needs 300×300 pixels. Use the calculator above to convert automatically.
